Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has charged the young scientists representing Nigeria in the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) to win the gold medal.

Giving the challenge when he received the contingent in Abuja, he also implored them to be good ambassadors during the event holding early December.

According to him, for the nation to achieve growth and development, only students with creative and innovative intellect would be good for the mission.

He expressed optimism that through the contest, other young people would be inspired to focus more on science, technology, and innovation, adding that with the success of the junior Olympiads, Nigerian youths would no longer dare the Sahara Desert in their futile quest for greener pastures abroad.
