Mohammed converts three ex-commissioners to special advisers
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has converted three of the five commissioners he sacked earlier today to special advisers.
Mohammed had earlier in December stated that he conducted a performance evaluation of his cabinet team to assess their productivity.
Early Tuesday, Mohammed’s Special Adviser on Media, Mukhtar Gidado, announced that the governor dropped five commissioners while nominating eight new ones to “strengthen his administration’s service delivery.”
The affected commissioners include Dr. Jamila Dahiru (Education), Barr. Abubakar Abdulhameed Bununu (Internal Security and Home Affairs), Comrade Usman Danturaki (Information and Communication), Professor Simon Madugu Yalams (Agriculture), and Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza (Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation).
However, the governor appointed Hon. Abubakar Bununu as Special Adviser on Multilateral Coordination and Regional Integration, Usman Danturaki as Special Adviser on Labour Matters and Contributory Pension Scheme, and Professor Simon Yalams as Special Adviser on Technical and Vocational Education.
Mohammed urged the appointees to bring their wealth of experience, dedication, and expertise in their respective fields to contribute significantly towards the attainment of his vision for Bauchi State.
He enjoined them to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, transparency, and a renewed focus on improving the lives of the people of Bauchi State.
