Monarchs caution politicians on 2023 campaigns
The Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers has cautioned politicians against visiting its official secretariat for political consultations or campaigns ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The appeal was contained in a communique issued at the end of the body’s monthly meeting, yesterday, in Asaba.
In the resolution read by the chairman, Obi E.O. Efeizomor, the council advised politicians to instead take their messages to the traditional rulers at the zonal level for onward transmission to the grassroots.
The royal fathers urged the people to embrace peace and support the government’s efforts towards sustaining security in the state.
