Lagos motorists have lamented the return of potholes along major roads in the metropolis.
They complained that most of the potholes have developed into craters, thereby impeding commuting.
The rains have recently exposed the poor quality of construction on some of the roads, which were recently rehabilitated.
A tricyclist, Ande Musa, who plies the Ilasa-Idiaraba route, complained of potholes on the road, which was recently rehabilitated.

He stressed that many accidents have occurred on the road as a result of motorists trying to avoid the potholes.
He said: There is one in the middle of the road just after the mosque as you turn towards Mushin. During the rain, some residents put woods to alert motorists, but with the break in rainfall, the woods have been removed and many unsuspecting motorists have been running into it with serious damage on their vehicles.”
Similarly, Monday Oroyomi, a banker, who resides at Jakande Estate, Isolo, but works on the Island, complained that the state has abandoned Adekunle and Kogberegbe streets in Isolo which are in deplorable condition.
He stressed that the streets, which have been serving as alternatives to the traffic-stricken Mushin Road, Isolo, have been in deplorable condition for years.
According to Oroyomi, such important streets should not be left in disrepair as many motorists going to Jakande, Ejigbo, Ikotun and environs, use them to come out to Isolo General Hospital.
The potholes are not limited to the hinterland roads as they are evident at Herbert Macaulay Way, Yaba.
A motorist, Kingsley Udeh, said the potholes are not just causing heavy traffic towards Sabo and Oyingbo, but they have caused serious damage to vehicles as well as accidents.
Udeh urged the Lagos State Government through the ministry of works and other agencies to utilise the cessation of rains to rehabilitate roads.
Also, motorists and residents within Addo/ Badore and environs are lamenting potholes on that axis.
They lamented that the government has neglected the road for too long.
They also blamed government officials representing the area in different political offices for not leaving up to their responsibilities.
According to them, it is a shame, that the area lacks good representation in government, accusing the representatives of only going after what they will eat.
A resident of Badore, Mrs. Omowunmi Kadri, told The Guardian that some of the bad spots are located opposite Access Bank near the filling station and Akins Bus Stop.
She stressed that the spot was previously rehabilitated.
But the State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) said it is presently working day and night to fix potholes all over the state.
LSPWC general manager, Lateef Somide noted that they are unable to touch everywhere at the same time, but are increasing coverage by the day.
Somide, who spoke through the spokesperson for the corporation, Samuel Ayetutu, said the torrential downpour recently experienced in Lagos slowed down the intervention of the corporation in fixing bad portions.
The General Manager said the agency’s operations have been configured to maintain a presence on Lagos roads in all seasons, adding ‘’that is why you will see our men fixing roads even in the rain with interlock paving stones where hot asphalt premix is not suitable for the wet season.”
