Vehicular movement along Iyana-Oworo- Berger expressway was at snail speed on Monday following multiple road crash on the road.

The Guardian gathered that the incident involved a containerised truck, with unknown registration number, a commercial bus and six other unidentified vehicles.

Confirming the development, spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Nosa Okunbor, said no lives were lost, and no injury was sustained by the drivers involved.

He said: “Following distress calls to LASEMA, through its toll-free emergency lines at about 6:46 a.m., the Agency activated its Tiger Response Team from Command and Control Centre, Alausa.

“Upon arrival of the Tiger Team at the incident scene, LASEMA Response Team (LRT) discovered a containerised truck, registration number unknown, a commercial bus and six other unidentified vehicles, were involved in a multiple road accident.

“Investigations conducted by the LRT revealed that the accident occurred when the containerised truck suffered a mechanical error that brought the truck to a sudden halt whilst in motion, thereby resulting in the impact that led to the multiple collisions at the aforementioned location.

“Fortunately, no lives were lost, nor were any injuries sustained due to the incident.

“All vehicles involved in the multiple road accident have been recovered and towed to Ogudu Police Station, including the truck and the commercial bus.

“The road is now cleared and reopened for public use.”
