The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has brought down three buildings around the self-collapsed building at Number 2, Oye Sonuga street, Papa Ajao, Mushin.

The self-collapsed building itself was brought to ground zero yesterday.

LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Dr Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, who supervised the controlled demolition of the buildings said that they failed integrity tests conducted by the State Building Control Agency and had to be brought down to avert danger.

He said four bodies recovered from the self-collapsed structure had been deposited in the mortuary, while two of those who were rescued and receiving treatment at the hospital had been discharged.

Oke-Osanyintolu appealed to Lagos residents to always obey the rules and regulations guiding building construction.

As of the time of this report, officials of the Building Control Agency as well as security officials are also on the ground to ensure the smooth demolition of the affected buildings.
