The National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Southeast, Chief Austin Umahi yesterday said that one of his missions is to capture Anambra and Imo states and deliver them for the PDP. He added that he would ensure true reconciliation of members for the purpose of rebuilding and rebranding the party so as to solidify it in the zone. In a chat with journalists in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi state capital Umahi identified intra party politics and clash of the titans as the major problems of the party in the zone.

He also noted that it was the instability within the party that made other political parties take advantage in Anambra and Imo states, now occupied by the APGA and APC respectively. “What destroyed us was intra-party politics and clash of the titans. We were not really united and other parties took advantage. As the VC of PDP in the South East, I will go into wide and serious consultation. I am ready to learn and listen.

Some people in truth have been wronged, we will talk to them and see how they will come back not only to rebuild but rebrand the party”. The Vice-chairman said that he would work harmoniously with all the stakeholders of the party in the zone for stability and growth. He noted that the APC-led Federal government has brought untold hardship to the people, saying that the PDP “is the only preferred party for the people”.
