N15m bribe: FG suspends NCoS officers, Bobrisky demands investigation

The Federal Government has suspended senior cadre officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) over corrupt practices and extortion of inmates following a viral video by a social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, trending on social media.

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board announced the suspension with immediate effect to pave way for investigation into the allegations. The suspended officers include Michael Anugwa, Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC) in-Charge of Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kirikiri, Lagos State; Sikiru Adekunle, DCC in-Charge of Maximum-Security Custodial Centre, Kiri-kiri; ASC II Ogbule Samuel Obinna, serving at the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Afikpo, Ebonyi State, for accompanying a convicted inmate out of the custodial centre to a location outside the facility; and Iloafonsi Kevin Ikechukwu, DCC in-Charge of Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje- Abuja, for allegedly receiving monies on behalf of an inmate.

MEANWHILE, cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, has called for an open and independent investigation into the alleged N15 million bribe saga. He denied the content of the audio, describing it as fake.The cross-dresser also made a cryptic post mulling on a suicide attempt.
