Nafiu emerges Gombe ADC guber candidate
The 300 delegates of African Democratic Congress (ADC), yesterday, affirmed Nafiu Bala, a lawyer, as the party’s governorship candidate. He emerged unopposed.
Also elected by voice votes were candidates to represent the senatorial zones, and federal and state constituencies.
Chairman of the electoral committee, Idris Musa, said the party merely went for ardent members, thoroughly convinced of the party’s ideology.
He said: “The voice affirmation of Bala is a confirmation that he is duly loved by ADC and its members.”
The governorship candidate told newsmen that his five-point agenda, including health, agriculture, security and economic emancipation, would revamp the state.
Joy Godobe, contesting the Balanga/Biliri federal constituency, said she had, for some time, searched for a political party with special attention for women and youths, adding: “ADC is generally known for women and youths; hence, I keyed in. Imagine that the incumbent lawmaker, a lawyer, never supported or sponsored any bill. I know the intrigues of lawmaking.”
