The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has urged the Federal Government to redeploy security operatives attached to Very Important Personalities (VIPs) in the society to protect the masses

NAN’s newly elected National President, Abdulmajeed Oyeniyi, during a press conference in Abuja, expressed displeasure over rising cases of kidnapping of Nigerian students.

He said: “Daily, our members from various campuses and communities across the country are being abducted. Ransoms are demanded by these abductors. The poor parents and guardians cannot afford to pay. Some abductees are also killed. This must stop.”

He said kidnappers were having a field day, while families were languishing in pains and agony.

He urged the government to secure Nigerian’s lives and property.

He stressed that security officers attached to VIPs could be redeployed to provide better security for all, while more hands should be recruited to address the security drift across the country.

Abdulmajeed warned kidnappers to stop inflicting more pain and agony on innocent Nigerian students.
