Natasha picks PDP nomination forms for Kogi Central, promises responsive governance

Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has formally declared her intention to seek re-election in the 2027 National Assembly polls after picking her Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nomination forms.

Speaking during the exercise, the lawmaker
pledged to deliver more responsive and people-oriented governance.

Natasha said her decision to run for a second term was driven by the need to consolidate what she described as a “people-driven legacy of service, empowerment, and inclusive development.”

“This is not just about me; it is about the hopes and aspirations of our people. The journey so far has been defined by commitment, courage, and results. I am inspired to do even more,” she said.

She expressed appreciation to her constituents for their continued support, noting that the progress recorded so far was a collective effort that must be sustained and expanded.

Outlining her agenda for another term, the lawmaker said the next phase of her representation would prioritise economic expansion, improved access to education and healthcare, and equitable development across all communities.

“The next phase of our representation will focus on expanding economic opportunities, strengthening education, improving healthcare access, and ensuring that every community in Kogi Central feels the impact of responsive governance,” she stated.

She assured constituents of her continued accessibility, promising leadership anchored on transparency, accountability, and fairness.

“I will continue to be your voice—strong, fearless, and committed to justice and fairness. Together, we will build a Kogi Central that works for all,” she added.

The senator acknowledged the support of her husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan, who purchased her nomination forms.

She described the gesture as a strong affirmation of her political journey and shared vision for the people of Kogi Central.

“If you had said no, I would not have taken this step towards the 2027 elections. But you chose to stand firmly beside me, affirming a shared vision and commitment to our people,” she said.

She praised his resilience and encouragement, particularly following the challenges of the 2023 elections, noting that his support reflected courage, faith, and belief in her mission.

Since assuming office, the senator has built a reputation for grassroots-focused representation, with interventions spanning infrastructure, education, healthcare, and empowerment programmes.

Her tenure has seen the facilitation of road rehabilitation projects, distribution of educational materials and scholarships, and vocational training initiatives aimed at tackling youth unemployment.
