Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) Business Women Group (NAWORG), in partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Cooperatives, is holding the 2022 Nigerian International Women Entrepreneur Exhibition (NIWEX) between October 20 and 23 at Alausa, Ikeja, to promote female entrepreneurs in the agriculture sector.

Coordinator, Lagos chapter of the group and Chairperson, Trade, Stella Igbekele Akande, who represented the National President, Hajia Aisha Abubakar, stressed that agriculture remained the surest way to diversify the economy, hence, this year’s event focuses on women in agriculture and the challenges they face.

On this year’s theme, “Encouraging Women in Agriculture and made-in-Nigeria Products for Economic Growth,” she hinted that the hybrid exhibition would engender a national economic policy on non-oil export and food sufficiency.

NACCIMA was founded as a body in 2005 as one of its trade groups to coordinate and support women’s activities not only within the chamber, but also across West Africa, and one of their key activities is the yearly fair, NIWEX, to network women across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Akande said Abuja hosted the inaugural edition in 2010 and has since spread to other states.
