NCC lauds The Guardian, offers to train staff

The Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) has commended The Guardian for effective coverage of its activities during the 2019 World Intellectual Property Day.

The Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) has commended The Guardian for effective coverage of its activities during the 2019 World Intellectual Property Day.

Consequently, it offered to train members of staff of the media house on use of copyright system as a business tool for growth.

The commendation and intention were contained in a letter dated May 10, 2019 and signed by the commission’s Director General, John O. Asein, wherein the newspaper was acknowledged as a major stakeholder in the copyright industry.

Asein stressed that the NCC was particularly pleased with the medium’s reportage and its highlighting of the relevance of intellectual property (IP) to sports and national development.
