NCC to set up response team to check cyber crime
Worried by the increasing the rate of cybercrime on telecoms network, the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) has planned to set up Cyber Crime Incidence Response Team (CCIRT) to nip the nefarious act in the bud.
Besides, the Council for the Regulations of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) has vowed to enforce the amendment act to check irregularities in engineering projects in the country.
Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Prof. Umar Garba Dambatta, who disclosed the commission’s plan at the 2019 yearly dinner and awards night of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Kabuga Branch, in Kano at the weekend, decried the penetration of network by unscrupulous elements. He said the response team would work with the existing Nigerian Computer emergency response team to curtail cybercrime.
