The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in conjunction with Kebbi State Government has disbursed loans and starter packs to 500 women in the state.

The disbursement, which took place yesterday in Birnin Kebbi is aimed at curbing unemployment and reducing poverty in the state.

Speaking at the event, National Director, NDE, Dr. Narsir Mohammed Ladan Arugungu said the beneficiaries would receive between five to ten thousand naira each, in addition to other items necessary for self-reliance.

In his remarks, Kebbi State Governor, Senator Atiku Abubakar Bagudu thanked NDE and assured the people that his administration would continue to initiate programmes and policies that will benefit the citizenry.
