NDLEA, Police partner to curb drug abuse in Yobe

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has partnered the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to fight drug abuse in Yobe State.
 
According to the agency, the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA), is to ensure a “decent and healthy” society in the state.
 
the synergy with the police, yesterday, in Damaturu, the NDLEA State Commander, Abdullazeez Ogungboye, said: “Our visit to the police command was to improve synergy and collaboration in fighting drug abuse.”
 
Ogungboye, who noted the critical role of the police in the fight against rising cases of drug abuse in the state, said the collaboration could ensure harmonious working relationships in the areas of intelligence and joint operations.  
   
He, therefore, nominated the state’s police commissioner, Garba Ahmad, as the Ambassador of WADA to sustain the pet project of the Chairman and Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig-Gen. Buba Mohammed Marwa (Retd).
 
According to him, WADA was an advocacy campaign against drug abuse in the country.  
 
While appreciating his nomination, Ahmad assured the agency of maximum support and cooperation whenever the need arises to ensure a drug-free society.
