The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that the Federal Government has suspended the payment of upkeep allowances under the student loan scheme.

 

In a statement, the Director of Strategic Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, described the reports as false, misleading, and intended to create panic and distrust among students and the public.

 

NELFUND clarified that neither the Federal Government nor the agency has issued any directive suspending upkeep allowance payments.

 

The agency also disowned a viral newspaper cover being shared online, stating that it did not originate from the Nigerian Tribune, and urged the public to disregard unverified information.
