The Nigeria Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) has expressed dissatisfaction over the continuous usage of unsealed electrical metres nationwide.

Speaking yesterday in Abuja at the inauguration of the parastatal servicom committee (PSC) the Managing Director, NEMSA, Peter Ewesor said that the only assurance and guarantee that a meter is the right type and the accuracy is correct is when there is a seal on it.

According to Ewesor, the seal which is attached to the metre is the only way to know that the metre has passed through the National metre certification of NEMSA where it is tested to be sure that the quality of the metre that is approved for the manufacturer has been installed and that the power received by consumers is what they paid for.

He called on members of the public to assist the body by calling on them whenever there is emergency for it to deliver on its mandate effectively.
