The newly appointed Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, assumed office yesterday with a pledge to refocus the Service towards covertness and studied silence.

This was according to a statement by the Director of PR and Strategic Communications, Department of State Services National Headquarters, Abuja, Dr Peter Afunanya, on Thursday.

The new DG also pledged commitment to surmount challenges confronting Nigeria’s economic, political and security environments. The governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated Ajayi, ex-State Director of DSS in Kogi, on his appointment by the President.

In a statement by Kingsley Femi Fanwo, Commissioner for Information and Communications, the governor hailed the appointment as indeed a round peg in a round hole as Mr. Ajayi has distinguished himself as a man who is committed to hardwork, integrity and competence in the fight against criminality.
