Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has unveiled the plan to construct new flyovers and roads in Maiduguri to ease commuting in the metropolis.

The project comprises the construction of two flyovers at Borno Express junction and Westend Roundabout as well as dual carriageway from Shehu’s roundabout to Songhai.

Zulum disclosed this, yesterday, in Maiduguri, while presenting the 2023 budget of N234.8 billion to the House of Assembly.
According to him, the State government plans to complete and commission all ongoing projects across the state.

“We plan to construct a fly-over at the Borno Express junction; including the construction of a dual carriage road from Shehu’s roundabout to Songhai,” he said.

Zulum added that a by-pass from Kano to Gubio roads would also be constructed to overcome the challenge of traffic gridlocks in the metropolis.
