A non-governmental organisation, Esteemed Hub Foundation, in collaboration with Education As A Vaccine and African Women’s Development and Communication Network (FEMNET), yesterday, marked World Environment Day in Niger State.

The theme for this year is: ‘Solutions to Plastic Pollution’.

Executive Director of Esteemed Hub, Princess Doo Agbadu, said to commemorate the day, the foundation staged a street walk from Mobile Roundabout to Kure Ultra Modern Market, Minna.

She said: “Women are mostly hit when there is climate disaster, therefore, women must be at the forefront of campaign on climate change.”

She said the foundation intends to spread its message across the state and the country on why people need to avoid using plastics.

Agbadu said apart from campaign on climate justice, Esteemed Hub, from 2021 to date, tackled child labour and enrolled about 350 children in schools, provided them with bags, books, uniforms, sandals and other items.
