A non-governmental Organisation (NGO), The Candlelight Foundation, is holding a ‘Walk Against Hunger’ in Lagos to raise funds for the needy.

Supported by Providus Bank, FBN Mortgages, Indomie Noodles, among others, the non-profit soup kitchen noted that the idea was an elongation of its free meals and other charitable acts to hundreds of starving persons in Nigeria’s economic capital. The event holds on May 4 after its novelty football match on April 19.

In a statement, the foundation’s executive director, Uzoamaka Okeke, said: “We are working on two projects at the moment. The Football over Hunger match and our annual Walk Against Hunger. The football match is between two organisations in the Fintech industry: FINT and Pagatech on April 19.

“It is a novelty match to raise awareness of the hunger emergency in our country and bond the public together to fight it.”
