Niger, Borno police decorate newly promoted personnel
The Niger State Police Command has decorated 204 newly promoted officers with their new ranks.
The exercise was performed by the Commissioner of Police, Shawulu Ebeneza Danmamman, at the force headquarters in Dutsen Kura, Minna, yesterday.
A statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said the new officers include one Deputy Commissioner of Police; 10 Chief Superintendent of Police, and 12 Superintendents of Police. It added that 181 Assistant Superintendents of Police became Deputy Superintendents of Police.
Earlier, the CP noted that to whom much is given, much is expected, adding that it pleased God for the beneficiaries to be hale and hearty for the promotion.
SIMILARLY, the Borno Command decorated 84 elevated officers.
According to the command, the promoted officers are to uphold “trust and commitment,” by ensuring the protection of life and property in the state.
Decorating the personnel yesterday in Maiduguri, the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Yusufu, charged the officers to serve with renewed vigour and reduce the crime rate to the lowest level in the state.
He urged to be exemplary by maintaining the highest standard of professionalism in crime prevention.
The police chief thanked the Police Service Commission (PSC) and the state command for finding the officers worthy of elevation.
“Your faith in our capabilities pushes us to strive for even greater excellence in serving the people, by protecting their lives and property,” he said.
