Nigeria has been drawn against Niger and Cote d’Ivoire in Group B of the WAFU Zone B U-17 Girls Cup, which is the preliminary round of the African qualifiers for the U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Nigeria’s archrivals, Ghana, are drawn in Group A alongside Benin Republic and Burkina Faso.
The draw for the inaugural championship was held at the WAFU B headquarters in Cote d’Ivoire.
The tournament, a groundbreaking event for youth women’s football in the region, will hold in Ghana from December 12 to December 26, 2024 at Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE) in Prampram, near Accra.
It will serve as the qualifier for the African U-17 Women’s Cup of Nations slated for Morocco next year.
