ABS Ilorin FC players safe after accident
Players and officials of Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club (ABS Ilorin FC), who were involved in a road accident on the Ogbomoso-Ilorin expressway on Monday, have been safely evacuated.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the club is owned by Dr Bukola Saraki, former Senate President of the 8th Assembly and two-term Governor of Kwara.
The team was returning from Lagos when their bus collided with a trailer, causing damage to the vehicle and minor injuries to a few players and officials.
A delegation of club officials, led by Director of Football, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, swiftly arranged transportation to move the players from the accident scene to Ilorin.
Medical attention was provided to those who sustained minor injuries.
The club has expressed gratitude for the concern and support shown by stakeholders following the incident.
As ABS FC prepares to host Solution FC from Anambra in Ilorin this weekend, the technical crew and medical team will assess the squad’s readiness and safety.
