President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has hailed Nigerian workers for their unwavering dedication and resilience despite economic hardships, promising robust legislative support to improve their welfare and rights.
In a May Day message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio praised the Nigerian workforce as the “backbone of the economy,” commending their perseverance and productivity in the face of mounting challenges.
“Despite obvious difficulties, you remain committed to excellence and nation-building,” he said. “We in the Senate recognise your sacrifices and will continue to champion your cause.”
Akpabio assured that the 10th National Assembly would give priority to labour-friendly legislation and ensure that workers’ rights are protected, adding that no Nigerian worker would be penalised for demanding justice or seeking redress.
“Our duty is to stand with you,” he said. “Working in synergy with the Executive, we will tackle your concerns and create an environment where workers thrive.”
He extended best wishes on behalf of his family, constituents, and the National Assembly to Nigerian workers.
