Edo Assembly confirms secretary of primary healthcare agency

The Edo House of Assembly on Tuesday confirmed Ohimere Oseh Ohisikhian as the Executive Secretary of the Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency
Ohisikhian’s confirmation followed the presentation and consideration of the report of the House Committee on Rules and Business on his screening exercise.
During the confirmation, the lawmakers tasked Ohisikhian’s on improving Edo State’s primary healthcare delivery system to meet the growing health needs of residents.
In another development, three bills scheduled for second reading were stepped down after a motion by Hon. Yekini Idiaye, representing (PDP Akoko Edo 1)
The motion sought more time for lawmakers to thoroughly review the bills before proceeding with the legislative process for second reading.
The bills include one to amend the Edo State University Uzairue (Amendment) Law, No.4 of 2020, for improved administrative efficiency.
The second bill is to establish the State Roads Fund (SRF) and the Edo State Roads Fund Board and Administration (EDSRFBA) for road management.
The third bill proposed the establishment of the Edo Rural Access Road Agency (RARA) for managing, rehabilitating, and maintaining rural roads statewide.
The Lawmakers emphasised the need for proper scrutiny of the bills to ensure they met the developmental goals of the state.
