Bola Oyebade Foundation, at its Seventh Yearly Lecture Awards, announced empowerment of not fewer than 20 beneficiaries in diverse areas including an upcoming cinematographer.
The event, held at the Rotary Centre, Ikeja, also coincided with the 54th birthday of its Founder, Bola Oyebade. It was attended by Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Motunrayo Adeleye, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Widescope International Logistics Limited, who is also a Transport Planner, Dr. Oluwasegun Musa, District Governors, Rotary International, Districts 9111 and 9112, Dr. Wole Kukoyi and Femi Adenekan respectively, among others.
Oyebade said the foundation that has been lifting the downtrodden since its inception, remained focused to do more than it has done the last six years.
“Today, being the first leg, we are giving two humanitarian awards to our supporters and also empowering five beneficiaries; four with N50,000 each and the other one, who is having triplets with N100,000.00…”
“The foundation is also supporting a young cinematographer to actualise his dreams and we are committing between N2.6 million and N2.7m to this programme this year,” he said. He called Nigerians to be their brother’s keeper in cash and in kind.
Adeleye who said her ministry was also to play supportive role to women, urged beneficiaries of this kind of gesture generally to use whatever equipment they are given for their business to boost their income for that purpose and stop selling them.
Musa who received his 206th humanitarian award for supporting the foundation said the essence of living is to positively impact other peoples’ lives. The Guest Speaker, Samuel Dopamu asked the youth not to be lazy but rather discover their talents and use them to better their lives.
