Gang leader, accomplices arrested for allegedly killing victim over marriage dispute
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has made a significant arrest, bringing an end to the terror reign of an alleged notorious gang leader Abubakar Idris (a.k.a Nishi) and his accomplices, Buhari Saidu and Musa Ahmadu Suleiman, who reportedly murdered one Ibrahim Danfulani.
FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed that the incident occurred on November 27, 2024, and was driven by Nishi’s intense frustration over Danfulani’s plans to marry a woman he had financially invested in.
Adeh explained that investigations revealed that the trio, armed with knives, viciously attacked Danfulani, leading to his death. In addition to the murder, the gang also stole 18 cows belonging to the victim as a form of compensation for what Nishi perceived as his financial losses.
In a dramatic twist, Abubakar Idris, who had fled the crime scene, was tracked down and arrested in Nasarawa State while planning to recruit new gang members for a sinister plot to return and kill the woman involved.
The successful arrest of all suspects followed a swift and coordinated operation by the FCT Police Command, working in close collaboration with residents of the Agaita community in Karu.
The suspects are now in police custody and will face prosecution to ensure justice for the victim. Adeh reassured the public that the FCT Police Command remains committed to safeguarding lives and property, urging residents to report suspicious activities or criminal elements to the nearest police station.
