Kresta Laurel recommits to engineering industry standards

An engineering company specialising in electro-mechanical systems like elevators, cranes, and power systems, Kresta Laurel, has concluded the celebration of its 35th anniversary with a gala and award ceremony held in Lagos at the weekend.

The event brought together the firm’s foreign partners, including industry stakeholders and politicians, who lauded the company’s resilience and enduring legacy of best practices in the industry.

President Bola Tinubu, in a congratulatory message by his Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, lauded the firm’s contributions to indigenous engineering and business practices, describing the firm as a major player in elevators and escalators.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kresta Laurel Limited, Senator Gbenga Daniel, while at the gathering, restated the firm’s commitment to setting a new horizon for Nigeria’s engineering future in the field of renewable energy, among others.

Daniel, while reflecting on the company’s 35-year journey, noted that the firm’s trajectory had not been without challenges, stressing that its commitment to integrity, quality and innovation set it apart.

He said that the firm was the first to instal a panoramic elevator in the country, adding that since it began operation, it had successfully handled 2,500 projects and installed 5,000 equipment.

Daniel observed that organisations that lack financial discipline and spend recklessly before executing contracts risk serious setbacks, warning that such practices often set such companies on the path to failure.

Earlier in his welcome address, Managing Director of the company, Dideolu Falobi, expressed the firm’s bold vision for the future of Nigerian industries.

He pledged the firm’s commitment to expand its footprint across multiple sectors, pioneer renewable and environmentally friendly solutions, and continue investing in the capacity building of young Nigerian engineers.

Also, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, said the firm’s contribution to Nigeria’s engineering sector was worth celebrating, saying that to be alive for more than three decades in the industry signifies commitment to professionalism and global standards.

Similarly, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, remarked that attaining 35 years in business in Nigeria is no small feat, describing it as “a tale woven with vision, courage, discipline, and the steadfast commitment of those who believed in the mission.”

“There must have been storms to navigate, moments that tried your patience, and times that called for resilience. But just like Lagos itself, Kresta Laurel has turned challenges into opportunities, setbacks into stepping stones, and dreams into reality,” he said.
