Lagos govt, AFD partner on urban regeneration
Lagos State Government and the Agence Francaise De Development (AFD) have resolved to collaborate for the regeneration of blighted communities in the state.
The state’s Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, who spoke, at the weekend, during a meeting with the agency, said that the state government was willing to explore opportunities for collaborative strategies, improve the condition of the blighted areas, better the lot of the people and as well enhance socio-economic development in line with the THEMES agenda of the state.
Salako, who acknowledged the support of the AFD for the state inter-modal transportation initiative, said that the Physical Planning Ministry and its agencies were critical to the selection of sites and other planning parameters relating to transportation facilities as indicated in the strategic Lagos transportation master plans.
