The Police Command in Lagos State says it has arrested an 18-year-old man, Success Adeyemi, for allegedly defiling a six-year-old girl.

The command’s Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday.

According to him, the incident happened on Aug. 29 in Isheri area of the state.

Hundeyin said that the mother of the child reported the incident after her daughter complained of pain in her private parts.

“The child’s mother said that her daughter complained to her when she wanted to urinate that her private parts were paining her.

“She asked her what happened to her and the girl told her that, Adeyemi had carnal knowledge of her.

“The medical report paper was issued to the girl for proper medical treatment,” he said.

According to the command’s spokesperson, an investigation is ongoing
