2023: Ex-Akoko-Edo councillors endorse Akpatason for mandate renewal

Some former councillors in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area have endorsed the Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Comrade Chief Peter Akpatason (mni) for a mandate renewal come 2023.

The councillors, under the auspices of ex-Councillors Forum in Akoko-Edo unanimously agreed to rally support for Comrade Akpatason’s re-election in 2023.

The ex-legislators after a meeting in Akoko-Edo on Saturday said their decision was based on Akpatason’s outstanding performance in office, especially “in the areas of infrastructural provisions such as Roads, Hospitals, Schools, Boreholes, Farms, training and empowerment projects where over five thousand persons received no less than N250,000.00 and above all, employment opportunities and his capacity to sustain the party in the local government area as opposition party in the state.

Moving the motion for the endorsement of the legislator for mandate renewal, Hon. Otaru Benson from ward 10, stated that he has no reservations to move the motion to enable the legislator “to continue with his good works in Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency”.

Seconding the motion moved by Hon. Ugbodaga James, Ward 9, said he was “driven by unreserved sincerity and honesty of heart with the utmost conviction” that Comrade Akpatason has “performed excellently well and so deserves our support and that of our wards.

“On this brief note therefore, I speak unequivocally to second the perfectly delivered motion of endorsement of Rt. Hon. Comrade Chief Peter Akpatason by my colleague, as our foremost candidate for 2023 House of Representatives election so as to accomplish all his well directed visions and mission for the people of Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency,” he said.

Adopting the motion unanimously, after it was put to a voice vote by the leader of the forum, Hon Jolly Joseph, Ward 5, endorsed Comrade Akpatason for a mandate renewal saying, “we plan to visit him to also present the endorsement certificate to him as a symbol of our support and noble resolution”.

For Hon Samuel Owolabi Ojo, Ward 4, “we want to assure Hon. Peter Akpatason of our firm commitment to mobilise and campaign vigorously for his electoral victory in all the wards and polling units. We are ever ready to fight the battle for you.”
