The collision involved an ambulance with registration number JBD-405HA and an articulated lorry with an unknown registration number.
According to reports, the lorry was struck on its side while in motion, causing the driver to lose control and swerve into another lane. The sudden manoeuvre resulted in a collision with the approaching ambulance, which crashed into the lorry at high speed.
The ambulance driver was trapped inside the vehicle and tragically died at the scene.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) swiftly responded to the incident, dispatching its Response Team from the Cappa Base in Oshodi and other emergency responders.
Traffic management measures were implemented to control the flow of vehicles, and LASEMA deployed heavy and light-duty equipment, including Super Metro and Lite Tow Trucks, to clear the road and ensure public safety.
LASEMA’s Pre-Hospital Care Team conducted a medical examination of the ambulance driver at the secured incident scene.
Sadly, he was pronounced dead, and his body was extricated from the wreckage and handed over to members of the Ambulance Association for transportation to the morgue.
The articulated lorry and the accident scene were handed over to the Nigerian Police Force for further investigation.
