Cleric extends monthly support to 300 elderly persons in Anambra

Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma

About 300 men and women aged 75 years and above from Nkwelle-Ezunaka community in Oyi Local Council of Anambra State have benefited from monthly support payments provided by a philanthropist and Spiritual Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, in Idemili South Local Council, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma.

During this month’s distribution, each beneficiary received a monetary allowance and a bag of rice.

Apart from supporting elderly persons, the Parish Priest of Blessed Iwene Tansi Church, Umudioka, Dunukofia Local Council, said he had lost count of beneficiaries of his various financial and material assistance programmes, including support extended to fellow clergymen.

The cleric also disclosed plans to embark on charity visits to correctional centres and homes for the less privileged in the coming days to support inmates and other vulnerable persons.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, Obimma said his charitable activities were driven by his passion for love, giving, and sharing to alleviate suffering in society.

The cleric, popularly known as Dada Ebube Muonso, said he had supported the wellbeing of needy persons for many years and pledged to continue providing financial assistance and relief materials to the poor and vulnerable for the rest of his life.

“If you want to reach old age like the beneficiaries, you should respect them.”

They have been praying for me and since then, I have not lacked anything,” he said.

While praying for and blessing the beneficiaries, Obimma also announced a forthcoming 90-day prayer programme aimed at breaking limitations and opening doors, scheduled to begin in the first week of July.

He urged Igbo people to embrace love and selflessness by supporting those in need within society.

Appreciating the cleric for the gesture, a coordinator of the Fada Ebube Muonso Elderly Support Foundation, Madam Angelina Ugonma Chukwura, thanked him for consistently helping to ease the suffering of elderly persons.

Another coordinator of the programme, Madam Irene Orefo, also commended the benefactor for his continued support for the weak, needy, and vulnerable.
