A magistrates’ court in Ado-Ekiti has granted a N30 million bail to lawyer and human rights activist Dele Farotimi.
Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun approved the bail application on Friday with conditions including two responsible sureties, the surrender of Farotimi’s international passport, and a prohibition on granting media interviews during the case.
Farotimi was arraigned by the Ekiti State Police Command after a petition from legal luminary and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Afe Babalola, accusing him of defamation in his recently released book.
