Demonstrators in Plateau hold church service at protest ground
Protesters in Plateau State held the Sunday worship service at the Old Airport roundabout in Jos, where the demonstrators have been gathering since the start of the protest on Thursday.
The worship service, which was attended by Christians and Muslims, was a replica of last Friday’s jumat prayers offered by the Muslim faithful at the same venue.
With an increase in number in comparison with the previous gatherings, the protesters temporarily turned the venue to a temple with praises and worship songs to mark Day 4 of the protest.
Security personnel led by the Commissioner of Police in Plateau State was in charge to monitor the activities of the protesters which have been peaceful in the last four days and might continue considering what they described as the unsatisfactory response of the President.
Leaders of the coalition in Plateau are converging to take a decision on the next step to take following President Bola Tinubu’s nationwide address on Sunday morning, which has been described as unsatisfactory and unacceptable.
According to the protesters the President failed to address issues raised by the agitators.
