Evelyn Joshua leads SCOAN’s celebration of resilience, growth

The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) will hold its third yearly thanksgiving service on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at its headquarters in Ikotun-Egbe, Lagos.

The event will feature soul-stirring songs and praises in gratitude to God for His faithfulness as the cornerstone of the church’s foundation.

The celebration will not be limited to Lagos; it will extend to various countries and continents where SCOAN members and Emmanuel TV Partners will gather to rejoice in unison.

According to a statement by the church’s media consultant, Dare Adejumo, the church has many reasons to celebrate.

“The church, like others in the country, was shut down for an extended period during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even when other churches reopened, SCOAN remained closed due to the overwhelming influx of international visitors eager to visit Nigeria,” Adejumo said.

He noted that the late founder of SCOAN, Prophet TB Joshua, opted to keep the church closed until he received divine direction. This decision, he explained, was made to avoid any health crisis, as the pandemic continued to claim lives worldwide.

“Prophet TB Joshua was a man of profound wisdom,” Adejumo stated. “His decision prevented a potential global uproar, demonstrating his commitment to the well-being of humanity.”

The passing of Prophet TB Joshua shortly after a symbolic prayer session at his prayer mountain was a significant blow to the church and its global followers. Adejumo described it as a

“spiritual earthquake” that tested the resilience of SCOAN.

“Many believed the church’s end had come, but they underestimated the divine strength that underpins SCOAN,” he said. “God’s grace ensured the church not only survived but also thrived.”

The mantle of leadership fell on Pastor Evelyn Joshua, whom Adejumo described as a woman of extraordinary virtues, spiritual strength, and unwavering dedication.

“Pastor Evelyn Joshua was divinely prepared for this role,” he said. “Her leadership reflects the same grace and anointing that defined Prophet TB Joshua’s ministry.”

Adejumo highlighted Evelyn Joshua’s impact since assuming leadership, praising her commitment to upholding her late husband’s legacy and advancing the church’s mission.

“Under her leadership, SCOAN has witnessed remarkable achievements. The Akure branch, which had been dormant, has been revitalised. Crusades and charity works have been conducted in countries like Ghana, South Africa, Zambia, Spain, Kenya, and Argentina,” he said.

The church has also introduced new initiatives such as the Women of Grace Conference, aimed at empowering women, and the International Youth Conference, which focuses on shaping a better future for young people.

“Evelyn Joshua’s vision is rooted in spiritual growth and societal impact. Her programmes emphasise sound spiritual values and community development,” Adejumo added.

Reflecting on the upcoming celebration, Evelyn Joshua expressed her gratitude for God’s unwavering support for the church.

“God’s faithfulness has brought healing, deliverance, blessings, and salvation to countless lives. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for His goodness,” she said.

The thanksgiving service will be preceded by a special “healing and deliverance service” on Friday, December 6. This unique event, similar to the church’s renowned Living Water Service, is expected to attract worshippers from across Nigeria and beyond.

Adejumo underscored the significance of the late Prophet TB Joshua’s teachings, which continue to inspire the church under Evelyn Joshua’s leadership.

“She has tenaciously upheld the lofty legacies of her late husband. SCOAN is a tree planted by God, and its fruits and leaves remain a testament to divine favour,” he said.
