Firm launches foundation to provide free treatment for epilepsy, seizures

AL-MONAN Hijama Cupping Therapy Limited has launched the Seizure and Epileptic Foundation to provide free treatment for vulnerable individuals who cannot afford proper care to manage their health conditions.
The foundation was unveiled recently during the opening of a new clinical centrespecialising in cupping therapy services in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Speaking at the event, the founder, Imam BolajiAtunrashe, a professional cupping therapist accredited by the International Hijama Institute, emphasised that the foundation, launched alongside the clinical centre, was inspired by the societal stigma that has worsened the situation for those affected by these health conditions.
He said there are various underlying causes of these conditions, many of which go unnoticed or unaddressed.
Atunrashe, who is also the Imam of the NASFAT Mosque at Oke Ota-Ona, explained that the centre would offer treatment for conditions such as cancer, goitre, fibroids, asthma, sickle cell anaemia, arthritis, diabetes, prostate issues, liver and kidney problems, colon conditions, heart disease, ovarian issues, memory problems, hepatitis, hypertension, impotence, and leukaemia, among others.
He described cupping therapy as removing unwanted blood from the body to promote overall well-being.
He said: “The genesis of this practice is from the teachings of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). It is a Muslim way of treating people. It is a process of removing excess toxins in the body, especially blood, that are not useful to the body because as we have part of our cells that are converted to energy, we have those that are not relevant, that are no longer good for the body.”
