The First Baptist Church, Kosofe, Lagos, has celebrated its centenary under the theme “Great Celebration.”
Speaking at the event, the Senior Pastor, Rev. Olatunde Festus, highlighted the importance of unity and harmony among believers, emphasising that these virtues provide a fertile ground for God’s blessings, including favour and mercy. He also revealed that the celebration would culminate in a grand finale scheduled for Sunday.
Chairman of the Centenary Committee, Publicity and Reunion, Mr Rotimi Oyedele, noted the significance of the anniversary and expressed the joy of the church members who have persevered through various challenges over the years. He remarked that the occasion was a milestone, and the congregation was proud to celebrate it.
Sam Titiloye, Chairman of the Historical and Award Committee for the anniversary, echoed these sentiments, stating, “A 100-year journey is no small feat.” He underscored the importance of marking the church’s long history and achievements.
Ifeoluwa Oludiran, Chairman of the Facility Development Committee, acknowledged God’s faithfulness throughout the church’s journey despite financial constraints.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Logistics Committee, Mrs Adesola, expressed gratitude to church members for their support over the years and commended the impressive turnout for the anniversary celebrations.
