Gombe State Executive Council on Monday approved a N320bn budget estimate for 2025, ahead of its presentation by Governor Muhammadu Yahaya on Tuesday.

The meeting, presided over by Yahaya, was held in the Executive Council Chamber of the Government House.

Briefing journalists shortly after the meeting, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Salihu Alkali, confirmed that the council thoroughly assessed and approved the budget estimate.

He said, “The council has approved a total proposed budget to be spent in 2025 of the amount of N320 billion.

“This occurred after deliberations in the council. We arrived at the approval of the total amount to be expended in Gombe State for 2025 to N320 billion.

“This proposed budget will be taken to the house tomorrow by the governor to be presented to the house for deliberation and approval.”

Alkali declined to provide a breakdown of the estimate, urging residents to wait for the details of the governor’s presentation at the House of Assembly.
