Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has expressed profound sorrow over the devastating fire at Makarantar Mallam Ghali, an Almajirai school in Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area, which tragically claimed the lives of 17 students.
In a heartfelt statement issued on Wednesday by his spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, and made available to The Guardian, Governor Lawal conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families, the school community, and the nation at large. “I’m heartbroken by the tragic fire that occurred on Tuesday,” he said.

“On behalf of the Zamfara State government, we extend our deepest sympathies to the families of the victims. May Almighty Allah grant them strength and comfort during this difficult period.”
The Governor also offered his best wishes for the swift recovery of those injured in the incident. Emphasising the responsibility of his administration, he assured the public that a thorough investigation into the underlying causes of the fire would be undertaken.

“We will provide all necessary support and assistance to the victims’ families and work diligently to prevent such a tragedy from recurring in the future,” Governor Lawal added.
