Stakeholders in education sectors have advised students on the need to be committed to hard work towards attaining academic excellence.

Speaking at the 2026 valedictory service, graduation and prize giving ceremony of Christ College, Ikeja, Lagos, the Principal of the college, Mr. Olugbenga Abayomi, urged students to remain hard working, as it was the only reason for their success in WAEC and JAMB examinations.

Similarly, Head, WAEC International Office, Lagos, Mr. Rafiu Atoyebi, emphasised on the need for students to sustain hard work throughout their academic pursuit.

“To our graduates, a chapter is being completed but there lies another journey and yet other journeys,” he said.

Atoyebi, who was represented by the Principal Accountant, WAEC Int’l, Mrs. Queen Adetunji, stated further that the Council is committed to excellence in discharging its mandate.

He added that the council is grateful to students who diligently study to earn their grades honestly without malpractices.

“These are the shining stars of the future the WAEC is building,” Atoyebi said.

In his exhortation titled, ‘From Gratitude to Greatness,’ Pastor Sijibomi Oyedolire urged the graduands to always show gratitude to God, noting: “Everything we are today is by the permission of God. No matter the gift, give gratitude.”
