PCRC seeks collaboration to tackle rising crime in Edo
The 2024 Mega Security Conference of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Edo State Command, has highlighted the need for collaborative efforts in the fight against crime and criminality.
The conference, held over the weekend at the John OdigieOyegun Public Service Academy (JOOSPA) in Benin City, examined the theme “Curbing Emerging Crimes and Criminality in Edo State.”
In his address, the Chairman of the PCRC, Edo State Command, Isaac Itseghosimhe, said the forum aimed to bring stakeholders together to address the country’s security challenges, particularly Edo State.
He pointed out that security challenges call for an ‘all hands on deck’ approach, adding that the security of life and property is critical to the state’s development.
He also called for collaborative efforts in the fight against crime and criminality in the state, saying kidnapping, cultism and other vices are increasing daily in Edo.
“At this crucial time, we must approach security with determination and collaboration. All stakeholders – citizens, law enforcement agencies, community, religious and traditional leaders – must work together to prevent and combat emerging and existing crimes,” he said.
