The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has directed officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force to wear black armbands throughout a seven-day mourning period in honour of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.

Lagbaja, who passed away at 56, was remembered by the IGP in a statement released by Force PRO Muyiwa Adejobi from Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The statement highlighted the directive as a tribute to the late General, who demonstrated gallantry, dedication, and commitment to combating violent crime and insurgency in Nigeria.
