Julius Berger donates educational materials to KNOSK Charity School
Students of KNOSK N100 A-Day Charity Secondary School in Kuje, Abuja, have received a generous donation of educational materials from Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, a leading construction company.
The donation included state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, refurbished containers for classrooms and a staff room, 200 backpacks, 2,000 notebooks, copies of the literature book “What Sunny Saw in the Sun,” and 50 mosquito nets.
Students and staff expressed excitement and gratitude for the initiative, which aims to support children from impoverished households.
The head of Corporate Communications at Julius Berger, Mr James Agama, expressed the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and dedication to uplifting communities in its operational areas.
Mr Kingsley Bangwell, co-founder of KNOSK Charity School, expressed his appreciation for the donation and highlighted the school’s pressing need for a science laboratory.
He praised Julius Berger for providing top-notch equipment to enhance the students’ learning experience significantly.
Mrs Irene Bangwell, co-founder and Head of Academics, echoed Mr Kingsley’s sentiments, emphasising the positive impact the donation would have on science teaching and learning at the school.
She also acknowledged the support received from other individuals and organisations, including the Ford Foundation, the U.S. Embassy, and SHE Forum Africa.
KNOSK Charity School, established in 2019, focuses on providing quality education to children from underserved communities, particularly girls, enabling them to break the cycle of poverty.
As of September 2024, the school has 195 students, 127 receiving full sponsorship.
