The Katsina State Police Command has rescued 10 individuals from kidnappers following an armed attack on a commercial vehicle along the Katsina-Magama Jibia road in Jibia Local Government Area.

The incident occurred on December 24, 2024, around 8:30 p.m., when suspected bandits, armed with dangerous weapons, ambushed a vehicle at Kwanar Makera, attempting to abduct its 10 occupants.

It was reported that four of the rescued victims reasonably sustained various gunshot wounds as a result of the bandits’ attack and were immediately rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention.

Two of the victims later succumbed to their injuries while receiving the treatment.

Police spokesman ASP Abubakar Sadiq who confirmed the incident stated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects as investigation proceeds.

The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, urged officers to sustain the tempo.

He also advised members of the public with useful information on suspected criminal activities to report to the nearest police station for prompt and decisive action.
