Kwara govt announces partial closure of Muritala Mohammed Way

The Kwara State Government has announced a partial closure of the Post Office to the Challenge section of Muritala Mohammed Way starting Sunday, June 15, 2025, to allow for asphalt laying as part of ongoing road upgrade works.

The state Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

Olododo noted that while the road will remain accessible, traffic diversions will be implemented to manage vehicle flow during construction.

Motorists should expect delays and are urged to drive cautiously, remain patient, and follow directions from traffic officials, Olododo stated.

According to the commissioner, the road project is part of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s urban renewal vision aimed at improving transportation infrastructure and economic connectivity across the state.

“We regret any inconvenience this may cause and thank the public for their understanding,” said Engr. Olododo.

“This project is vital to boosting the road’s economic utility and enhancing connectivity, in line with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s urban renewal vision. We’re committed to completing it swiftly and efficiently.”

The government assured the public that disruptions would be minimal and safety would be prioritised.

Motorists are advised to follow traffic instructions and plan their routes accordingly.
