Lagos reopens Cubana priest’s food outlet
The Donald’s Fast Food, popularly known as De-Angels Night Club, located on Adebayo Doherty Street, Lekki 1 owned by socialite Cubana Chief Priest has been reopened.
The food outlet was closed by officials of the Lagos State Government on Sunday for violating environmental laws.
This was disclosed in an X formerly a Twitter post by the Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab.
The business was sealed under the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law 2017, Part VI Section 177, which prohibits certain activities in residential areas.
The closure occurred after complaints about the facility being used for clubbing and partying, activities not approved for the location, which is situated in a residential area.
These activities had been flagged as a violation of state environmental laws, leading to the enforcement action by the authorities.
Tokunbo stated that the proprietor of the business has signed an undertaking to comply with Lagos State’s environmental regulations.
The proprietor committed to maintaining the establishment strictly as a fast food enterprise, with no further use of the premises for unauthorized activities such as clubbing or hosting parties.
“With this assurance, the Lagos State government has ordered the unsealing of the facility, allowing the fast food business to resume operations. The government’s actions reinforce its commitment to maintaining a safe and peaceful environment for all residents of Lagos,” Wahab said.
