Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Wednesday, presented two trucks and a car for the operations of the Oyo-Osun Zonal Police Command.
Makinde made the presentation during a courtesy call made by the 34th Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Oyo-Osun Zone 11 to the governor’s courtesy room, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
He lauded the impressive performance of the security operatives in the state, saying the effort had greatly influenced stability and economic activities in Oyo and Osun States.
Makinde, who called for peace by the people at the Oyo-Osun boundaries, appealed to the elites to make ways for long-lasting peace across the Southwest and Nigeria as a whole.
In his remarks, Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Oyo-Osun zone 11 Command, Fred Ekokotu, described his visit as homely, pledged to contribute to the security development of Oyo-Osun states over the boundary disputes between the two states.
The visit had in attendance the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP James Adenola; Oyo State security council advisers, including retired CP Sunday Odukoya; government functionaries; and others.
